Who we are

Our website address is: https://garddsadwrn.co.uk.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Purchasing from our online shop

If you purchase products or services from us we need to collect and store suffucient contact details from you in order to deliver your purchases. The information is stored for the lifetime of the system unless you request that it be removed. We use a number of third party data processors (see below) who are all compliant with strict data processing requirements.

If you use a debit or credit card to pay for a product or service we will pass your card details securely to our payment provider. Other payment methods are handled in a similar manner.

We comply with the payment card industry data security standard (PCI-DSS) published by the PCI Security Standards Council, and will never store card details.

Comments/Reviews

When visitors leave comments or reviews on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms

Should you choose to contact us using a contact form on this website, the data submitted is collated into an email, encrypted and then sent over the internet to our email service provider. The email is securely stored on the servers of our email provider for us to access. We don’t store any of this data locally. You may request to see your data and ask for it to be deleted.

Email Subscription

We use a third party provider called MailChimp to send our e-newsletters. When you sign up to our e-newsletter you are sharing your email and name with ourselves and MailChimp. Your details will only ever be used to send an e-newsletter when we have some new news and if you want to unsubscribe at any time then it is a simple matter of clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the e-newsletter.

MailChimp complies with GDPR legislation and is EU-U.S. Privacy Shield compliant. MailChimp’s Privacy Policy.

Direct marketing

We use two different lawful bases for processing your data for ‘direct marketing’ purposes:

  • Legitimate interest – This is where we have identified a genuine and legitimate reason for contacting you, which crucially does not override your rights or interests. We use legitimate interest to send you the information listed above by email.
  • Opt-in consent – This is where you have given us express permission to contact you by particular communication channels. We use opt-in consent to send you the information listed above by email.

We respect your right to update the way we get in touch with you about our work at any time.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit our website and what is popular, which helps us improve the website. No personally identifiable information (PII) is stored and site usage is always looked at on an aggregate (and anonymous) level. Google Analytics also uses cookies to work.

Who we share your data with

Like most organisations, we use other entities to provide essential business services like email. We use mainstream providers that we can rely on to handle our data appropriately. These are our third party data processors and their privacy policies:

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
