Peat! Be aware

Lots of people are getting gardening supplies at the moment. This includes compost, a lot of which contains peat.

Peat extraction for compost is destroying habitats and fuelling climate change. If your grow-bag or compost isn’t labelled as peat-free then it’s almost certainly peat-based. So please consider peat-free.

Peat-free alternatives are available and work perfectly well.

B&Q’s own brand products and New Horizons are good. You can also get some great wool compost from Books at the Dragon’s Garden or online.
